This site is brought to you by the Long Island Ferry Service in West County Cork, Ireland.  The service is owned and operated by Maurice Coughlan, Long Island, Schull, Skibbereen, Co. Cork

Long Island is one of the smallest inhabited islands in the south west of Ireland situated in one of the most scenic and relaxed parts of the world.  It has a long and interesting history and is only now being discovered by visitors who appreciate its beauty and tranquility.

We provide a dedicated passenger ferry service to and from the island throughout the year.  The trip from Colla pier on the mainland to the island takes about 5 minutes.  The service, provided in conjunction with the Department of Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht, is a core facility for island residents, but all are welcome on board.  Sailings follow a fixed timetable and prices are affordable. If you wish to travel at other times we provide an alternative service at slightly higher cost.

To avail of the alternative service you usually need to book in advance.  We can also pick you up from, or drop you off at, other harbours and piers in Long Island Bay.  There is a minimum charge which can be offest through sharing with friends or travelling in groups.

Pleasure trips around the islands, or a few hours  catching a fish or two for supper (we have the gear), can be arranged for families and groups.  Or how about an evening cruise  ……  you choose?

Our boats are fully licenced by the Department of Transport, are equipped with appropriate safety equipment and are fully insured to carry 12 passengers.

All sailings are subject to weather and other conditions
